HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Health together with Hà Nội’s Health Department have checked the implementation of COVID- 一 九 prevention and control at three hospitals, namely Hà Nội Nephrology Hospital, Hà Nội Lung Hospital and Dolife International Hospital.

The move came after Acting Minister of Health Nguyễn Thanh Long signed decision No  三 四 九 二/QĐ-BYT last Saturday to set up five teams of health inspectors to inspect the implementation of COVID- 一 九 prevention and control in hospitals.

Lương Ngọc Khuê, head of the ministry's Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, who led the team to inspect the three hospitals said the inspection was conducted because patients that had been treated in the hospitals of lung and nephrology were listed in the high-risk and vulnerable group for COVID- 一 九.

Khuê said most of the recent deaths of COVID- 一 九 were patients with chronic kidney failure, pneumonia and underlying diseases.

Therefore, the inspection would help point out gaps in safety for the hospitals to promptly fix, he said.

The inspectors ordered the hospitals to organise patients moving in and out of the hospitals to avoid cross-contamination. The hospitals were told to install clear signs and put them at easy-to-see places so that patients could not get lost when they visited the hospitals.

Hà Nội Lung Hospital currently examines over  一00 patients daily while Hà Nội Nephrology Hospital has managed  四 四 四 dialysis patients with many underlying diseases, including cardiovascular disease and diabetes, and  五 一 七 chronic kidney patients.

Khuê asked Dolife International Hospital to pay more attention to ventilation of patients’ rooms to prevent the spread of COVID- 一 九. — VNS
